About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Key Account Manager (KAM) for the Rheumatology division of a leading multinational pharmaceutical company, based in Vijayawada. The role involves managing institutional and key accounts, driving sales achievement, building long-term customer relationships, and managing tender and institutional business across the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management: Manage and grow key institutional accounts including hospitals, rheumatology clinics, and medical colleges in the Vijayawada region.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, heads of rheumatology departments, and procurement teams.
- Sales Achievement: Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the Rheumatology product portfolio.
- Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities across hospitals, specialty clinics, and institutional channels.
- Tender & Institutional Business: Manage hospital tenders, institutional procurement processes, and government buying cycles to secure product placements.
- Product Promotion: Conduct scientific product detailing and academic presentations to rheumatologists and specialist doctors.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with marketing, medical, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless execution of field strategies.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and pricing strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Negotiation: Lead commercial negotiations with institutional buyers and procurement committees to close deals at favorable terms.
- Reporting & Compliance: Submit timely field activity reports and ensure full compliance with company and industry regulations.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc or B.Pharm from a recognized institution (preferably B.Pharm).
- Proven experience in Ortho, Rheumatology, Biosimilar, Critical Care, or any other super specialty pharmaceutical sales.
- Strong understanding of institutional buying processes, hospital tendering, and procurement cycles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-driven with ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing relationships with rheumatologists, orthopedic specialists, or institutional buyers in the Vijayawada region.
- Experience with biosimilar product promotion and biosimilar market dynamics.
- Knowledge of government and private hospital tendering processes in Andhra Pradesh.
- MBA in Sales & Marketing would be an added advantage.
